Why I’m running

A few years ago, a voter told me he wasn’t going to vote that year. One vote didn’t matter, he said, and elected officials never listen to what the people need anyway.

That has always bothered me, because I believe every voice matters. We have a responsibility to hear out every idea and work together to find the best possible path forward for our community.

We are Evans. This city wouldn’t exist without its people, and I want to help be a voice for the people who don’t feel they’re being heard.

Work

I’m a software engineer, and I came to it the long way around. Before writing code, I spent more than 12 years in retail, working up from front-end supervisor to asset protection manager to assistant store manager at a store in Greeley. There I ran daily operations, merchandising, and staffing for the fresh food section, which brought in more than $30 million a year in a store doing over $100 million. That job taught me how to manage complexity, communicate clearly under pressure, and get people working well together.

I earned a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics from American Public University, and I’ve worked as a software engineer since 2019: first at Radial Development Group in Loveland, and since 2022 at a software company. On my own time, I’m building a scheduling tool for small local businesses, starting with restaurants.

Service

From 2009 to 2014, I served as a reserve deputy with the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.
