Roads

We need to keep working to repair the damaged roads we have. New business will help Evans expand, but businesses won’t want to come here if they can’t drive on our roads.

Infrastructure

I believe we need to update our city’s capacity to support new, larger businesses, and that means upgrading some of our water and sewer systems. Bringing in that new business will help Evans grow, so we can continue to improve things.

Budget

Over the last several years, we’ve been asked several times for tax increases. Now that they’ve passed, it’s time to stop asking for more money and start using what we have to repair the things we have.

Evans has $150 million in deferred maintenance (repairs that have been put off) that needs to be addressed. We have to start making progress on that list, or we’ll dig ourselves into a hole we may never get out of.

Water & Drought

I’d like the city to start working toward xeriscaping more of our public spaces, using drought-tolerant landscaping that needs little water. That will reduce watering costs and the impact on our community. It’s more sustainable, and starting now means we won’t have to make drastic changes all at once later.

Public Safety

While knocking on doors, I’ve met several residents who said people racing on our streets is one of their biggest complaints. That’s why I support our police, so we can tackle this safety issue more effectively and help make our community a safer place.
